As excited and anxious as I am to show you guys my spring collection, The Honey Line, I'm going to wait a bit longer for the big reveal so you can properly see them. But for now I'll give you guys a sneak peak, behind the scenes of getting ready and the shoot.
We spent the greater part of the late afternoon getting ready. I was blessed to have my friend and photographer Genevieve, (check out her site and blog) help me out in so many ways. When the models arrived she styled one model's hair and touched up makeup while I got the other model to retry some clothing on to make sure the fit was good, along with proper shoes and accessories. It flowed pretty well.
We even had time to enjoy a few bites of Honey Tea Cake I made for a little treat. I thought it would be fun to have Honey Cake since that's what my line is called, The Honey Line. Silly I know, but seriously it was some good cake!
In case you care, I got the recipe from this beautiful recipe book, Miette. I'd share the recipe but I'm not sure that's legal.
Here are some bad quality shots I took on my iphone during the actual shoot. I wasn't too cold to start with but within 20 minutes a breezy chill set in. I felt so bad for my two beautiful models, Japhia (blond hair) and Sabrina (Dark hair). They were both such treats to work with. I was amazed that even in the almost freezing cold weather they kept such positive attitudes. I can not thank them enough for being apart of this team!
I'll admit though my favorit part of the whole shoot was having Jonathan by my side. Seriously I can not tell you how awesome it was to have him there. He was willing to help out with anything, from hold things, driving back to the house to pick up random items I forgot, to hanging girly doilies up on a line. To my wonderful and awesome husband, YOU ROCK!
