A Thursday Evening

Last time my sister was up here she gave me a mint green, J Crew cardigan that she once bought for herself but ended up not wearing it enough to keep. (I love hand me downs!!) Yesterday I slipped into it and much to my amusement received countless compliments at work and school. Even people in the hallways who were walking by me would comment on it. I've just never had so many random compliments on an item of clothing in one day as I did with my mint green cardigan. Apparently pastels and mint green are the popular colours for spring 2012, or so I hear, so I guess I must be oh so stylish! Haha just kidding.

Obviously not the most flattering shots of me but you can see my casual outfit yesterday and the cardigan.

I think it's also very important to announce that last night I made pancakes and much to my amazement they were perfectly cooked! Jonathan teases me about my lack of pancake cooking skills because the first time I made them they were doughy in the middle and burnt on the outside. Since then I rarely make them but slowly my skills have been improving. I know I can cook good food but why I've struggle with such a simple thing is unknown to me.

But last night Jonathan was happy with them and so was I! Success with the pancakes!

The remainder of the evening was spent at some friend's house playing Mario Cart on their N64 and over all doing an awesome job of avoiding homework. Got to love evenings like that!

OOO banana, strawberries and coconut? Those pancakes look fantastic... and I'm currently very hungry and stuck at work in the middle of a snowstorm, so this really doesn't help whatsoever haha

Not going to lie- I can't make pancakes either! I feel a bit like a cooking buffoon because they should be so easy.
On a different note, love your minty cardy. You look great!

I have a pair of minty pants that I have been sporting as of late but all I get are bewildered stares. :)

I think I make great pancakes but my husband never approves either. He only let's me buy pancake mix now. Lol

My pancake cooking tips - first, you have to have your pan hot enough that water dances on it when you throw it on there but not crazy hot and second, you have to flip them when the top has a few air bubbles coming up. Then just take them off once the bottom side is golden. Doing these things always seems to work out for me! But I'm definitely no pancake connoisseur ;)

Hey, I love your blog, and would be so humbled if you took the time to check out mine. I'm just getting started and I would greatly appreciate the help in spreading the word too.
I also have another blog that is slightly older and I post, now mostly original poetry or how my day was, or scenes/chapters from play's/books of my original work. I would appreciate your feedback on whether you my poetry/writing is any good.
