Saturday evening I had the joy of hosting my first ever cookie swap with some great gals. I wasn't quite sure how it would go but by the end of the evening I was pleasantly surprised with how things turned out. Everyone brought some great tasting treats and hopefully left with equally as many as they arrived with.
Sadly I wasn't able to be take any photos that evening as I seemed to have gotten caught up with all the talking and laughing. So, Sunday morning I attempted to gather up what little food remained to snap a few shots for my blog.
I ended up making a lot of food, way too much food actually. We had a warm spinach dip which was amazing. There were mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese, walnuts and pears which may sound good but turns out very few like blue cheese, including myself. On the table there was also a selection of candies and veggies.
My favorite were coconut snow ball cupcakes with a meringue icing that my husband helped me make just before the party.
There was also a selection of some special hot chocolates along with chocolate dipped marshmallows. Turns out it really wasn't a hot chocolate drinking night but oh well. More for Jonathan and me later. Ha ha!
Finally who could forget the cookies! Oh the cookies were abundant and very very tasty! Thank you to all the gals who put in so much work to bake their amazing treats!
I also just wanted to show off my twig tree. I was so excited to make it Saturday afternoon and was so please with how it turned out. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but it sure makes for a cute center piece in our home now.
