Watermelon Everywhere

Over the last few days Jonathan and I have been up to our ears in watermelon.

...... That may be an exaggeration but we've discovered that it takes a while for two people to get through one watermelon....let alone four. We ultimately gave away two of them and we're almost finished one of them leaving us with the final one. I feel like I should put this last one to good use.  Maybe mash some up, mix it up with some juices, freeze it and have some posicles. Maybe attempt a form of watermelon ice cream. I'm sure the options of endless.

But anyways lately I've had that watermelon song stuck in my head. You know the one, "Down by the bay,
♪ Down by the bay ♪
♪ Where the watermelons grow ♪
♪ Back to my home ♪
♪ I do not go ♪
♪ For if I do ♪
♪ My mother will ♪
♪ Have you ever seen a whale with a poke a dot tail ♪

...I'm sure you know how it goes.

On that note I must leave this pathetic post.

Happy Wednesday. :)

Ok, this may seem odd but in grade 7 I learned that they do this in Japan, and if you do it right, its SOOO good.

Blend up the watermelon (just the red part) and heat it up in a pot with some sugar. Once it come to a boil, stick it in a freezable dish (those 9X11 Pyrex ones work well) and stir it every 20 minutes or so. Eventually, you will end up with a DEEELISH watermelon slush!!! :)

Oh Amara that sounds amazing! I'm going to use half of a watermelon to give it a try. I'll post my results when I get around to it. THANKS for the awesome idea! :D
