For my wedding I had spent countless hours putting together a pear chandelier. All I knew was that I wanted to have a chandelier somewhere in the wedding but really couldn't afford to buy or rent one. So instead I got a friend in Calgary to pick up this circular Christmas lighting thing from IKEA and bring it back to Lethbridge. After Christmas last year all decorations went on sale so I stocked up on like six or seven containers of pearl strands. Like I said it took some time but I was able to create a chandelier I adore.
I had blogged about it before, with pictures and all but I feel it deserves to be blogged about again because to my delight my landlord and Jonathan were able to hang it up in our entry way. Our landlord was totally cool about figuring out how to get it hanging properly from the ceiling so we can take it down after and did all the electrical work so we can just you a light switch to turn it on. I was amazed to come home one day after class to my creation hanging from the roof.
This is what it looked like as I was putting it together.
Here it is in all it's glory at the wedding!
And now she hangs with grace in our entry way. I can't wait for Christmas now so I can wrap around Christmas tree branches and hang crystals off it.
