I have never actually read the WHOLE Bible.
There I said it! Think of me what you will but it's true. When I was a kid and teen I tried on numerous accounts but never really achieved that goal.
Today I walked in on an elderly couple trying to come up with some profound knowledge and significant value regarding an account found in the Old Testiment. I guess the story goes that David went to battle and before he did he sent out 12 or something like that men and they ended up stabing each other to death. Uhm...ok I really have NO recognition of that story. Anyways the elderly man wanting to get into a good spirital debate asked me what I thought the significants would be about that story.
I laughed and said, "honestly I really don't even know that one. Didn't know that was in the Bible."
Mortified yet pleased with himself he asked, "Well...don't you read your Bible?!"
Then than feeling hit. You know that feeling where you want to stand up and slap that someone because somehow they found a way to put you down spiritually...like you're not good enough and that person trumped you by knowing something more than yourself.
I shot back, "Yes of course I've read the Bible." Then laughed and walked away. True I have read it but there we're spots I skip....obviously each time it was with that story.
Anyways...I thought I'd just share my confession of the day.
If I've ever told someone I've ready the WHOLE Bible...I lied. Sorry!
